In August 2006, I experienced an unfortunate accident that was life-changing; a domestic accident involving the use of aromatherapy that burnt 56% of my body ( 2nd - 3rd degree burns on both my legs, both hands, a bit on the back) and very luckily (God is merciful) my face suffered flash burn and got back to normal after 4 months, 10% of my daughter's and 10% of my husband. I was hospitalized 2 months during which I went through surgical debridment and skin grafts in 5 location of my body. Words just can't express the trauma I went through and the stress I cause my family. Heavily burn survivors go through a long period of rehabilitation and family support and care is of vital importance to the patient.
